The Beecher’s Foundation

Changing the Way America Eats

Did you know that 1 percent of Beecher’s sales goes to The Beecher’s Foundation? Dedicated to building a better future for all, The Beecher’s Foundation creates unique programming for youth and adults to educate and inspire people to eat real food and vote with every dollar. The team operates two programs that inspire action around food choices to help improve health outcomes:

Pure Food Kids
The Pure Food Kids Workshop is a no-cost, commercial-free, learning standards-aligned food education class for 4th and 5th graders. The program is free to all schools (public, private, charter) and prepares students to become “Food Detectives” equipped with the tools to read labels, understand how ingredient lists are ordered, see through marketing messages, and cook from scratch. To date, more than 160,000 students have completed the program, and in the 2018-2019 school year alone, 27,620 students became food detectives after experiencing Beecher's Foundation programming.

Sound Food Uprising
The Sound Food Uprising Workshop is designed to activate adults to make better-informed decisions about buying and consuming food. The engaging, science-based curriculum is delivered onsite in workplaces and community centers around Western Washington. Workshops explore power and influence in our food system; teach hands-on culinary skills; and uncover practical ways to improve individual eating habits.
